WPM-P003 ยท MANUFACTURING-DEVELOPMENT STUDY

Guided shallow-assembly press

A hand-driven screw, guided ram and removable work carrier explore controlled positioning for shallow assembly tasks.

Original manufacturing-development concept. Not available for sale.

No force rating is established. The displacement stop is not a force limiter. Clear barriers are unvalidated, and there is no carrier interlock. Required force, fits, repeatability and safe operation remain unresolved.

What the concept explores

The screw moves a ram along two guide columns. A captured thrust arrangement illustrates both downward contact and positive return. A removable carrier provides a way to stage a small hypothetical workpiece outside the pressing area before positioning it beneath the tool.

Illustrative operation

About 21 seconds: the modeled mechanism demonstrates nominal positioning, pressing motion and return. Thread action, force, friction and elastic behavior are omitted. This is a motion explanation, not a demonstrated press-fit result or a qualified operating procedure.

Carrier access and service study

About 38 seconds: a staged access sequence explores removal and return of the work carrier and nearby components. Operator handling, tools, guarding and safe support need separate development. There is no interlock preventing operation with the carrier removed.

Components and assembly relationships

The short exploded view shows component relationships. Spacing is explanatory and is not an assembly instruction.

The longer, approximately 6-minute 18-second presentation shows staged assembly and disassembly at a readable pace. Pause, seek or use fullscreen to inspect the labeled parts. It remains a CAD study; no physical build or safe maintenance procedure has been qualified.

Inside the thrust arrangement

Actual CAD section exposes the nominal thrust capture and tooling. Thread envelopes are simplified; rigid reference interference is intentional. Open full-size CAD view.
Three actual CAD section poses showing downward contact, clearance take-up and positive return
Three nominal poses show the collar contacting the lower washer, taking up clearance on reversal, and lifting through the upper washer and retained cap. Positive retention geometry alone does not establish strength or safe operation. Open full-size CAD view.

Manufacturing development ahead

Required pressing force, workpiece deformation, overload control, bench and joint restraint, operator handling, safeguarding and repeatability must be established for a real application. Materials, thread details, fits, purchased-component matching, lubrication and wear also need development before manufacturing release.

These original CAD studies support manufacturability and domestic-production discussions. WPM is not an engineering firm; this presentation does not establish professional engineering approval or production readiness.

Study scope

Product-only concept CAD for review, containing 86 nominal solids. No force rating; the displacement stop is not a force limiter. Clear barriers are unvalidated and there is no carrier interlock. Thread flanks, forces and elastic behavior are omitted. Fits, strength, safe use and manufacturing release remain unvalidated.

Review checkpoint V30 applies to the concept presentation and package; the actual CAD revision is v10. This is an original hypothetical study, not customer project work.
